Could someone clear something up for me please. Say for example i have a myspace layout website (which i don't), and if i understand the myspace related ads are low paying. Then say i have another website getting a bunch of non eu/us/ca traffic which is also considered somewhat worthless (low paying stuff) (somewhere smart pricing fits in here not sure where) So is my adense account now considered worthless to google at this stage, resulting in low cpc etc. Then say i made another site with high quality us/eu/ca traffic with some high paying keywords, Would i then receive less than if John Doe opened up a new adsense account and setup the exact same website? (Keeping the other traffic aside from the total earnings, but does the "crap" traffic kill how much i could earn from other projects) Hope i was somewhat clear
everybody wants to know the answer to that... to re-phrase your question, is the so-called "smart pricing" applied per website or per account?
Right, i guess that is the question, not 100% sure what the smart pricing thing is. I just know it fits in there somewhere. Thanks for re-phrasing danimal.
Smart pricing is account-wide. If you have one high quality + one low quality site and the low quality gets smart priced, it brings down the whole account. This is why I park some of my "lower quality" sites if I can't get them monetized properly. It's more complex then it sound (my procedure), but I always try to keep up with seeing what's going on with my sites. Some unfortunately get the boot (if they aren't making enough and I fear smart pricing in the future).
Good reply Fka200, Thanks. This i know will have been asked many times before, but is there an easy way to see if my account has been smart priced?
