I recently picked up dogs4sale.org, just because I kind of wanted to develop it into a forum where breeders and stuff can post if they're selling dogs etc, and members can look for dogs =P. Do you think the whole forum thing would work, and do you think it would generate good revenue eventually? How would you suggest driving traffic to a forum like this one? I have about a 200-300$ budget. Is that enough? I have my vbulletin license, etc.
Local advertising would be a good option, like flyers and stuff like that. It may be worth developing it, I think it's a good domain name.
If you're going with the forum idea, you're going to needto seperate them into seperate local areas (major cities, states, provinces) I know I wouldn't buy a dog online, but I would visit forums where there's health/caretaking tips and discussions for dogs A lot of people love dogs, so I wish you the best of luck .
Well.. if people are selling babies on Craigs List I dont see why they would be hesitant to pack and ship an animal.
people buy animals all the time online and they go and pick them up or they a air shipped to your house (i would never have a dog shipped but others do)... You could direct your forum towards the sales of dogs but you might also want to add on a help and tips part too.
Hmm flyers may work with this locally try and get it established. Even buying in traffic on a target area like : Pets/dogs could help. But users dont want to go and see an empty forum so get your friends on first.
