Would you guys say that late evenining-early morning is the worst time for affiliate offer conversions/leads because of the low volume of traffic? Do you guys that do Search Engine Marketing disable your Adwords, Yahoo, and AdCenter ads at certain hours of the day?
natekapi, It totally depends on the offer. Some of my offers have converted really well after 7pm but have sucked during the day and vice versa. As everyone always says... "Just test, test, test". With that said, I do know a couple of people that once they did some testing found evenings to be low ROI and would disable their campaigns during this time. Let us know what you find out.
Yeah, I was just thinking that if your targeting something towards people under 18 that it wouldn't really make sense to run ads late at night like 3am EST to 6AM EST or something like that. PST makes it a little trickier though...because if you stopped ads at 12am EST it would only be 9pm PST....
I know that 12:00-4 am PST are the worst time for sales. However, I don't understand why anyone would bother to turn off their PPC. PPC by definition is pay per click. If the number of clicks is small, what the advertiser has to pay is small. What matters is the conversion rate and I don't think the rate is any lower. If anything it could be higher. Joe just spent a few hours researching the product that he wants to buy, and at the end of the day he is ready to buy. However, he can't find your site any more because you took down the ad. All of the above is moot if you make sales through SEO. Your website is on 24 hours/day(one hopes), so that it doesn't matter when they come and pull the trigger.
