This month seems to be the worst month for Indian E-commerce Establishment who deliver worldwide. After the Paypal announcement of their new Rules, I have been notified about the steep rise in Prices for EMS the only cheapest logistics for delivery outside India. The Rates have been increased to as high as 100%!!!! For E.g the Shipping charges to Canada till 14th Jan were INR 475 + Taxes. Now it has been raised to INR 890 + Taxes ( Something around INR 1000 .i.e $30) With Such a rise in logistics and the new rule from Paypal it seems the Indian Govt wants to stop all the exports from small and medium export houses who rely on these two sole mediums when it comes to e-commerce for customers Outside India. I own an e-commerce website http://www.spectglasses.com and am already filling the heat with the increased EMS Rates. I doubt if I would be able to continue our Services for Out Side India Customers. I do acknowledge payment through CCAvenue however many times the payments from customers outside India are Rejected from the gateway due to some reason or the other.
I was not aware of the fact what you have described above. Pretty sad to know SMBs are affected. through I don't own a e-commerce site but defiantly a blow to freelance activities.
yeah. you are right. Definitely, this rule will gonna affect our foreign money transaction via paypal in ecommerce.
I would recommend using a processor besides CCAvenue for international payments. Especially try to use a gateway you can integrate directly on your site without using a in between site.
