Worst PR Update Ever

Okay, a bit over-the-top...kinda blah though, even for someone that doesn't pay attention to it much anymore.

I checked a few sites and found that several went from PR4 to PR0 and most the others I manage stayed the same.

Any other interesting stories to share? This update really only affects my DP weight, but still...kinda funky.

Hmmm, I wonder why so many sites I'm running across fell to 0. Were yours new? The 5 that I now know of were built roughly 5-6 months ago.

How many datacenters did you check? Are you only looking at the toolbar? Its not uncommon for a datacenter to use old data from time to time.

Must be in the process of resetting or something because I see the milliondollarhomepage.com as zero to

5 datacenters on a pagerank tool that I am looking at show 0 for milliondollar, the rest (majority) show 7.

Did you pay for any links for PR purposes?

I set up a mod-rewrite on my forums pages some time back and those are the pages that I am watching to add pagerank. So far, they are all still at 0 other than the forum home page, which has been at 4 all along.

Only one of the sites that I got paid links for dipped (but it has a lot of other incomings); overal the ones that dipped for me were simply not that old...no bad links or anything; they had some IBL from a variety of sources and only linked out to relevant sites.

I'm not going to stress over it because it really only affects the DP / LV side of things, but it does seem odd that it would happen. It is possible that it is a precursor move on the PR side -- I'm surprised that I didn't see any "PR is updating" threads on the other forums I check.

It's just old data showing on some datacenters.

That must be very frustrating to have a site go from PR4 to PR0.

IT is just a rollback. Has been happening for ages.
You are just hitting the dcs with old pr data.

Check the tool in my sig to see what DS are showing a drop.
I have seen quite a few site dropping but I think it is just a hiccup or, dare I say it, a pre-update jagger :)?

Yep, see it all the time... It's what starts most of these threads off. People panic because the site that got pr in the last update looks like its lost it.

Some of the datacenters are showing pr0 for one of my sites, but this is nothing new. They are always testing things out =)
