Worst Hosting Company!

Yeah, NEVER use their service. 1.) Their hosting sucks 2.) Their customer service is far worse than any other I've ever encountered.

I signed up awhile ago, and I couldn't believe how much their hostig sucked. I could go on and on for days, but I'll just say it was horrible.

So I called to cancel and they refused to refund my money.

I don't pay CROOKS. So I called my bank, filed a report, and had the charge successfully refunded.

But ALAS! Today in the mail I get a letter from a collection agency working for Gate.com to get their $50.

I don't get pissy about too many things, but lame hosting companies is definitely one of them. They won't get a penny from me. I hope they don't get a penny from you either.

Just a heads up.

 

How long did you stay with them? Mine was a nightmare too, but I switched recently. I stuck with them for 2 months to receive a complimentary <80% uptime throughout the whole 2 months of my best life, and receive no compensation because they earned 'too little' from me.

 

Haha, I stuck with em for about 6 hours. As soon as I got on the phone with their ******* joke ****** ******* ******** customer service reps. I knew I was done.

I have been through about 20 web hosts now, and I am now very happy with HostGator.

I can definitely second the gate.com thing, a friend of mine tried them and he said that they were absolutely horrible.

 

They are horrible. And this very post may soon be the top organic search term result for "worst hosting company" ^.^

I am going to bump the crap out of it. Let's not let our fellow web developers waste time and money on companies that suck.

Sounds bad, were you within the money back guarantee when they refused to refund you? Or did they not offer a money back guarantee at all?

what are your host companies now and why you chose them?

 

From my Experience I'd say correctus.com their hosting sucks !!! sucks hard!! that guy promised me 95% Uptime but wtf! it wasn't even 50% used to go Down every week for atleast 5-6 hours and sometimes it used to be down for days

from then I only choose good and reliable hosting providers like Hostgator, DreamHost

I had a Gate account in the past becuase I bought a site from someone who was using them... I actually still think the account is open with possibly a domain name stuck in it..... I didn't like the account set up and phone support so much, I've just walked away from whatever is in the account cause I don't want to deal with it...

They also billed me for something with the account by mail and were going to send me to collections for about $5.00 ... I also just paid that cause I didn't want to deal with them at all....

Lets just say they are not on my preferred list of registrars and or web hosts.

I'm now with HostGator and I couldn't be happier with it. I just hope they don't change! lol

You can look up hosting review sites and stuff (which is what I did a lot) but I still had some trouble with the companies rated really high on a lot of those sites. They weren't horrible (like gate.com) or anything, but not super great. Also, everyone has different experiences with different companies. I see people complaining on the HostGator forums and stuff, but I've been with them for almost a year now, and everything runs like clockwork over there... at least for me ^.^

I use Hosting Zoom and this is my second year with them. Except for some DDOS attacks a few weeks ago that they rectified pretty fast, I've had a pretty good experience with them. They're my first paid host and so far so good.

I also signed up with HastyHost a few weeks ago here on DP and I just started hosting a site with them, so I'm waiting to see how it goes.

Thanks for the heads up on the bad ones. That always helps to know.
