We all know about people buying domains that are misspellings of well known websites. I didn't have a problem with this until the other day at work when instead of typing: www. webmonkey. com I typed www. webmokey. com Did not go down well with the boss ;(
I mistyped google once ... at my school. Some disgusting porn site showed up. I wasn't very lucky coz my teacher stood rigth next to me. Hhahah I had to unplug my monitor as fast as i could and act like the computer crashed or something.
It's much worse when you visit the site and proclaim just before the page loads 'This is a great resource, I used to read it everyday'
I've just realized that WhiteHouse.com is no longer a p0rn site. It has now graduated to adsense farm http://www.whitehouse.com/
whitehouse.com looks like it's violating Googles TOS .... why don't they just get set up with Google's parking service for large traffic domains? Does G still offer that?
I just grabbed this from my Friday Funnies Marketing Jokes Blog Some domains someone should have thought more about before registering. www.penisland.net (Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island) www.powergenitalia.com (New to Italy? Need electric light? Why not sign up on-line with Power-Gen?) www.whorepresents.com (Who Represents - a database for agencies to the rich and famous)
Hehehe I saw a couple of more of those www.expertsexchange.com] (Experts Exchange - a search engine) www.molestationnursery.com] (Mole Station Native Plant Nursery - although they redirected it to a different url now)
