Worst Case Scenario: I received $1700 and PayPal limits my account within some mins..

I received a payment of $1700+ from my affiliate network. And PayPal limited my account immediately.

I have two problems now. They are asking to add a credit card and then enter the expanded use number. I added a credit card but they don't charge me $1.95 and so I get no exp. use number at all. The first step to resolve the issue of limited account is hope less.

Next, they ask for ID proof and address proof. For Id i sent them the Passport copy but for address proof I dont have any document. All the utility bills are in my father's name and I live with him, so i sent utility bill in my father's name. The second name matches. and also the address matches exactly...and I explained this thing in the comments section.

    I hope that...
    1. PayPal will set my account allright
    2. PayPal will refuse the documents, close my account and give my balance after 180 days...

    I am afraid that..
    1. PayPal will never reply me..
    2. PayPal will steal my $1700 and I will never gain it back..

Will keep you updated what happened.

Sometimes it takes several days to maybe a month before a foreign charge appears on your credit card statement. So you could wait. If it did not work then your card cannot be used to fund the paypal account.

Instead of the Utility Bills, why not send a copy of your credit card statement, that should have your name and address and your credit card number which will link you to everything. Otherwise, it can be any other bills such as your cellphone, internet , club membership or any kind of bills with your name and address. Or any other documents with that two details from an official source. I believe all they want is to verify that you are who you say you are. Failing which, scan and fax the front of your credit card to them.

Paypal does not steal any money, they are governed by the laws. They can freeze and return your money if they believe it was fraudulently obtained. They could release the funds to you within the 180 days pending any refund request.

I assume that your paypal account is unverified or else you would not have face this issue of resubmitting your credit card details again.

If you account is verified, I guess that's probably why you cannot add that card back in again since it would have participated in the Expander Use Program already.

Just give them a couple days to get it ironed out and failing which contact them again and ask what other documentations you can provide.

Like I say, the credit card statement may be a good source to verify that you are living in that address. You could blank off the various transactions on your card if you want.

You will have to send them all details about the name but most probably they will not take any action with objection that your name does not match and blah blah.

You said you have credit card added to your PayPal account, whose name this credit card on? I guess yours else you couldn't use it with paypal. So just send them your Credit Card statement, address etc and Hopefully they will resolve it.

One can never be sure about PayPal's account restoration process. Sometimes they come up with such stupid requirements you can't imagine.

Best of luck with it mate

the next step the will ask for proof of stock and proof of delivery for all transactions on your account (or at least 6 or 7 of them.

thats what the did to me.

how can you prove you owned a cd you bought years back and decided to get rid of on ebay and sent first class mail?????? - i copied the feedback from buyer but they didnt accept it. - accounts still locked after 8 months.

This is outright stealing of money. They lock your account permanently and never return money to you?

Or is it they will refund money after 180 days?

    Hello,

Over the weekend I received $150 in fradulents funds from (5) ebay auctions, and Paypal limited my account - because "my business is too risky".

Not my fault I received fraudulent funds, and they said they are not going to unlimit the account.

Calling them up once again Wednesday in hopes of accomplishment..

Gosh!!! $1700 is a big amount. Sorry to say lovers of Paypal, they have worst customer service I have ever come across. When you call them, you have to wait too much long to talk to a "human being" then he forwards your call to another guy and he to another and you just waste your time calling their customer service.

I think in your case they probably be checking something. May be the payment is suspecious, etc. etc. Call them and send everything they require. And I hope your account will be allright soon.

    btw I HATE PAYPAL

you will get your money. It will just take forever. Don't accept no as an answer. There is no reason why you shouldn't get your money.

Call the affiliate that send the payment and ask for their help.

Incidentally what affiliate is that ? Are they involved in anything against Paypal's Accepted Usage Policy ? They could have broken Paypal policy and you get a situation of guilt by association.

If you do not want to share the information then that means you have something to hide and give them more reason to further lock your account.

You mentioned earlier that you used a credit card and now you said you use a debit card. If it is bank issued, go down to your bank and ask them to provide a certified statement that the VCC is linked to your bank account then fax that to Paypal including the personal details portion of your bank book or bank statement.

Otherwise, have Paypal returned the money to all the parties which have paid you and get them to reissue you the money through some other means.

If you are using one of those pay a few dollars for a VCC number without validation from a member here or somewhere else then consider it as an expensive lesson. Don't mess around with Paypal.

The important thing is do the right thing.
