And you see, knowing that these scriptures were written by men, men who weren't even alive when the alleged miracles happened, makes the idea that they believe they are "revealed from God" more ridiculous. Not less.

If someone were to write a "modern testament" and tell you it was revealed to them by God today. Would you believe it now? Or would you be pointing and laughing at the crazy person?

Actually... did you know that Mormons.... you know, that other organization of believers..... believe that "all Christian churches are an abomination".

So oops... there goes your koom-ba-ya he's everybody's God, Lord of Lords nonsense where you try to put your version of God above everyone elses. Other religions believe God has a completely different set of standards and requirements from yours. If just ONE of them is right and you are wrong, well.... you know that Hell place you are always guys are always telling us we're going? :(

    ... yeah.

You have God to thank for the wisdom that He has given you to be able
to enjoy life and express what is in your mind, He gives you the freedom to look into "probabilities" even as He is willing to give you some time to finally realize that He still remains to be your God. But we hope you will come to understand that, regardless of where you are and in whatever situation and circumstance you now happen to be, our God, the God of all creation, the
owner of everything in heaven and on earth, including all the vastness of
the entire universe, shall forever remain supreme and sovereign, kind and
providing, merciful and forgiving. He loves every body, including you and me.
    Praise Him!

But of course, who believes other than what you decide to adhere to could
become an abomination; yet we thank you for not making us one because
you are not of that group. At the very least we can see some tiny slit in
everyone's heart where the smallest seed of faith and affection can be
planted and nurtured to grow and finally realize a bountiful harvest for the
goodness and eternal salvation of all of mankind. May God continuously
    bless you, GeorgeB, Praise Him!

Yet he hasn't figured out a way to just tell us that. ;) Because you know if God spoke to us directly we wouldn't be able to understand him and our heads would explode.

Oh wait, yeah that only counts when he's not talking through a burning bush. Ever notice how God only speaks to people in private? Then all of a sudden they are prophets, and gullible people like you have to just take it on faith that it happened. ;)

    Just like you.
In the con game they call that being able to spot an easy mark vs a harder one. But everyone has within them the capacity to be conned. That's why the first 4 out of 10 commandments are spent making sure you worship no one other than the Christian God. The Sheppard can't have his sheep giving money to some other group ;)

Why shouldn't we? But of course, we are happy that you understand the
kindness and mercifulness of the Lord God. Without doubt, we are sure
God forgives you for whatever it is you ask Him about. May He continuously
    Bless you, mdv. Praise Him!

You should go and say that to a group of Islamic extremists. Then, after they kill you, you can be in heaven. Why wait? You can go be with God right now!

    Yay religion!

George this is called faith and who are you to say that god didnt speak to them. If there is a god I believe he can do whatever he feels is right for us. You cant argue faith with an atheist so I chose to debate with you in a scientific way.

I will start off by saying that I believe that god exists because this universe and all of its complex laws were created by god. The alternative (which is your side) is that all of our universal laws came together by random chance. The same random chance Im trying to prove by throwing my leaves up in the air and them coming down and magically transforming into a mule. Since we know this is impossible do you see how dire your side of the argument is;).
    God bless

We assure you, GeorgeB, that our God does not allow us to label as
an "abomination" anyone who yet refuses to believe, after all, all things
happen upon the instance and at the proper timing of the Holy God. And
in the name of the Lord Jesus, we never con nor dupe anybody to accept
and believe in God; the Holy Spirit does it to anyone who deserves. That is
why we do not only believe, we all abide and obey what we honestly believe.
In God,s own time, the Holy Spirit will convict everyone to repent and believe.

Of course he can do whatever he feels is right. Just not anything that makes sense.....

    P.S. I - am - not - an - atheist.

    What??
bingo, I knew you couldn't make a post without leaves :D

Let me point something out to you.... You like to use your leaf analogy and point out just how ridiculous it is... right? As if you are a person who can see something is ridiculous and come to a rational conclusion. The problem...... is that though you mock something like evolution as being ridiculous, you think that Adam and Eve, talking snakes, burning Bushes, immaculate conception, walking on water, God listening to and answer prayers, and all the other fantastical stories in the Bible are A-OK huh? There's nothing ridiculous about that at all right?

If you're going to label something as absurd have the moral courage to label everything that is obviously absurd.

    Be - intellectually - honest.

Precisely why they are called "extremists"; in everything, extremism is a no-no. We don't worry ourselves with overdoses, let us presume all of us have normal tempers and pressures, and I don 't think real-life Islamics, nor any
religious, for that matter, deliberately kill just for religious differences.
If at all, killings are purposely and wrongly attributed religious repercussions
for evil personal or political agenda.

And mind you, GeorgeB and mdv, even as we vow faithful devotion to our
God, we also respect the universal freedom of choice for every individual to adopt and believe in his god in ways acceptable to him. Our God does not
allow us to belittle nor trample upon the rights of other people to worship, although the "Great Commission" commands us believers and practitioners
to reach out to as many as willing to accept the teachings and tenets
that we walk and live by.

Another thing which obviously both of you do not know of our faith is, we
don't need to die in order to be in the company of our God. Our God is within
us, Emmanuel! He lives in our hearts and minds. That is why, everything that
we do, it is God, the Holy Spirit that makes us do it. We do everything for and
in the name of our Lord God, Jesus Christ, Praise Him. And when we die, our
God promises to continue being with us until eternity.

Yes, in one sense you’re right. If anybody thinks that religious scriptures were written by human and miracles described their even not seen by themselves, in that case I think it’s illogical to believe. As I believe in God and he cleared about the last and final revolution of our scripture, I would not believe any modern testament or anything else as a religious scripture.

We are all gonna die, "god" will save none.

Nobody knows wether what I just said will become a reality or not, you can keep believing and hoping but I,
who believe to no god or religion, will fight and believe only to myself to survive in this life until the end.
Until the end, I will, for all I believe, fight and bow down to no god or evil.

Wow... all the anime I've watched lately got my mind all messed up.

There's your problem, you don't know! We will help you to know. At first,
you don 't have to believe god or religion. Just begin by reading the Holy
Bible. While you are at it, concentrate and try earnestly to understand
what you read. Nobody needs to tell you what and what not to believe.
Just plain read like you're reading the first stories in history. Let's see
what you get from there and see if you are a child of God or just popped
up from nowhere inside whatever it was that had been created by nobody.

Or why don't you just try analyze where you are standing right now on a
surface of the earth that speedily rotates and revolves around the sun, and yet you still remain standing where you are, not a bit shaken even as the
earth continuously rotates and revolves in its perpetual motion. Oh, gravity
and buoyancy? But whoever did make it at the start? The Big Bang? But from
where did the gigantic objects that did the Big Bang come from, who made them all?

Read the Holy Bible, understand and receive the truth, the way, and the
    life through it.

I will take your advice and read the bible, not because I care for any religion or something but because I like to read wise books and develop my mindset and evolve into a better human. That's it.

That is one of the worst arguments for religion in the history of the world. And one that is used way too often.
