As many of you know the 2008 WSOP main event
has come to a conclusion. It has been several
months since the start of the event.

This year, 2008, is the 39th Annual WSOP. It
had 6,844 entries with 666 positions paid.
The prize pool was a whopping $64,333,600,
with $9,119,517 going to the winner, and
    $21,230 as th minimum payout.

The event started on Thursday, July 3rd, 2008,
with the first of 4 "Day 1's". There where 4
day 1's, and two day 2's and then days 3-7
played out through mid July to get to a final
    9. After a 4 month break, play resumed. The
final table was started on November 9th and
10th as all but 2 players where eliminated.

The final showdown was between two young players,
Peter Eastgate(22) and Ivan Demidov(27). After
all was said and done Peter Eastgate walked
away the winner. He is now the youngest player
to win the WSOP Main Event. He is also a new
    millionaire.
