Im still seeing great results. In fact today is a really good day. I don't see how it could be a fluke considering this has been going on for 3 weeks. Maybe it just depends on the niche because we are approaching winter which means certain niches do better at this time.

This is a very good question, I was just wondering the same.
The most logical answer would be yes but the question is
    how bad will it get?

Even if it does get worse look at the positive, it just means bids will be CHEAPER to buy when affiliate marketing on adwords.

True. Off course side effects can be good for some. Good point.

    You did not say "Google-Proof"

Do you feel confident enough to say Google Proof :)

Here is my take on this very interesting topic. I think that the current economic depression has made the small advertisers run away from AdSense with their tales in their hands and well, you can't really blame them for anything. They have made the right choice by waiting up and I am sure that they will all return once things get better. This fact has given the bigger companies the chance to bid lower than before since the competition is not high anymore.

However, all the big companies are also facing economical problems. For instance, 4 top American auto manufacturers have asked for $25 billion from the bailout plan. I am sure that big companies are going to cut their TV/RADIO advertisements costs and take the internet route as advertising on internet is much cheaper than TV or PRINT media and has a bigger, more targeted audience. This means that even though the earnings may remain low, they will remain steady.

Gas price, inflation and lesser jobs means people are not gona go crazy in the upcoming holiday season. I personally know many people who now prefer buying online than going out, consuming gas, snacking while shopping and spend their greens. It's easier to order online and you can find some great deals as well. This also has a positive affect on Google AdSense as many stores are going advertise even more since online shopping is currently very much "in".

Like I said, the earnings may remain low but they should stay steady. The trick is to keep up to the work and prepare for the future as we MAY see investors gaining their confidence once Obama is in the office and that should have a good overall impact on global and U.S. economy.

No way...Google's having it's way with about half a dozen of my sites right now. They've all fallen off the Google map and I can't figure out why.

A friend of mine always says, I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him".

Well, I believe in God, and the only thing in this world that scares me is Google!

    CPC/eCPM went down
    total adsense earnings went UP
because my traffic went UP as a result of ever increasing own creative productivity and investment in better overall quality.
but if I had the same eCPM now than 16 months ago, I would have about 3-4 k$/m more than now .....

overall the decrease of advertisers however is good. weak products, poor quality and rubbish went offline. excellency survives. hence the market may be smaller but stronger because more and more useless products / services disappear and with the global economy crisis hitting Billions worldwide - Billions may review their spending/wasting money policy and focus on truly important products.

with less money available people have to think twice ( or more often ) if or NOT they really want/need a particular product or service - online as well as offline.

hence the current global economy crisis is a blessing for the world to clean up and dispose of lots of obsolete and trashy things in our lives

Well almost 2/3 in this poll are showing an effect. I'm glad I haven't seen an effect, but that tells me some niches must be very vulnerable to recessions and bad economic news moreso than others. The way the adwords bidding is setup, it makes it more resistant to recession than other forms of advertising I think. For example, my affiliate sales have gone down every month for the last few months as the economy gets worse, despite adsense going up.

the thing is, we have more cheaters and more honest people

MFA sites and click fraud clouds many newbies sites didn't get approved, because even new sites are even going wrong way to start...

of coz, it has big relationship with economy crisis, now it's time to capitalize on this situation when the economy is back, you will earn more than ever.
