South Korea goes to second round after draw with Nigeria. Unexpected after Greece lost to Argentina. But what happened to France...really sad...

 

And... the host nation South Africa managed to pull off a win against France 2-1 but still could not prevent themselves from getting eliminated along with their losing opponent... due to poor goal difference!
In the process... South Africa became the first host nation which could not qualify for the second round in a FIFA world Cup!

England and USA go to 2nd round

Australia and Serbia are the next to go... as Germany defeated Ghana by just a goal... but Australia defeating Serbia helped Ghana to scrap through to the second round... at second place!

Now... Germany will play against England in the second round and it will be great game to watch!

Before the World Cup 2010, everybody wants to see the Three Lions and Der Panzer meet in semi final. Unfortunately after the group C and D qualifications they should meet in the 2nd round, it's too early Clash of Titans.

 

I said this. Football of France and Italy is very bad in 2010 World Cup.

 

And Japan made history by defeating Denmark 3-1 to advance into last 16 on foreign soil.... for the first time!

It surely is going to be one cracker of a match and I am not going to miss it... for anything!
I would have loved to see KAKA v/s. Ronaldo... but unfortunately KAKA will have to see this match from the bench.

This one turned out to be a dull affair but the one involving Spain and Chile was quite interesting and one saw an aggressive game. I thought several decisions of referee were unfair towards Chile who really played well but were unfairly reduced to 10 men. Chile fought well to reduce the goal difference to 2-1.

Today we get to see Germany face England and Argentina against Mexico!!
I am betting on Germany and Argentina going through...
