Working on my first Clickbank Product

Well it is official I have decided to create a product for Clickbank. I have been in my field for 10 years and have extensive knowledge on the topic I am going to focus on. Not only that, there is not a lot of competition for this product on Clickbank. Actually I think there are only 1 or 2 that I could find.

It will be an Ebook in PDF format this much I know, probably around 40 pages in length. With a price of 39.99 and paying 65% on the commission. With the first 10 affiliates getting 75%. (if this will work)

Any tips I can get will be great. Since I am new to the publishing part of clickbank. I have had a little success selling items but I want to try my hand at publishing.

I know I am not giving a lot of information here but I don't want to spawn off a bunch of competition hehehe. When everything is finished which will be probably a couple of weeks from now I will issue out a limited number of review copies and sneak peek at the pitch page etc..

If theres only one or two comparable ebooks, are you sure theres a big market for this product?

I tend to go the opposite way and target the hot markets...
    But good luck anyways

WVStephens - congratulations on your plans to launch your first product in the Clickbank marketplace! It sounds like you have the ideal foundations to become a successful publisher. I have no doubt you've not only checked the competition for the product, but also the existing market demand for it (this is essential). The fact that this is a familiar topic for you gives you an immediate advantage because potential customers will "feel" the credibility in your sales copy.

If there's one simple bit of advice I could pass on, it would be to write a list of 20 things that the most successful publishers use on their sales pages that the least successful publishers do not. (I mean publishers in general, not just your niche)

Some of these general things would include:

    * Creating a sense of urgency (limited time offer/limited quantity available/promotional offer/sale price etc)
    * Sell the sizzle, not the steak. (Focus on benefits rather than features) Look at the most successful competing products outside the Clickbank marketplace. How do they market themselves?
    * Use the law of comparisons. Compare your price to more expensive options, or your tremendous value to less valuable options to customers.
    * Use the law of consensus. people tend to act like sheep - if they know other people value you or your solution, they are more likely to value it themselves.
    * Make your design and sales copy as polished as possible and have zero tolerance for typos, excessively blurry graphics, off-balance design elements, etc. Even if your competition lacks these qualities, you should have them in order to preempt future competitors.
    * Relate as deeply as possible to your customers. Paint a picture of their problem, and illustrate how your product solves it.

    Best of luck!

I just launched my first clickbank product a little over a week ago. If I could give one piece of advice it is to recruit affiliates and create a buzz around your product before launching if you can.

RevRPM - I think the best way to get your first affiliates is to simply start selling the product a lot yourself so that you show up in the clickbank marketplace with a gravity of 3 or 4. All you need is a few sales a day to do this. Then other affiliates will magically appear and take your product for a spin. If they are also successful, your gravity will grow and you'll get even more affiliates. It's sort of a snowball effect.

I recently launched my own first product and started off for a couple days selling it myself through PPC, and then a few affiliates found it through the marketplace. I also announced it here and got a few affiliates that are having some success.

    Thanks!

That sounds like good advice. I have 5 sites that I will be launching on ClickBank
very soon! Don't ask me whay it is 5, that is just how it has all worked out!

These are my first e-commerce sites! I have an opt-in site which is chugging along.
But, this will be a BIG step up.

    What about recruiting affiliates pre-launch?

    Regards,

    RPM
