working on a new search engine - need some advice

I am going to be doing a paid results, flat rate per keyword. Just have not thought of a good way to show results yet. I do have one idea.

Oldest domain shown first. So the people in the system the longest will be shown first, will be a flat rate that will be charged per month.

If they change the url or keyword or stop paying, they will drop out and everyone else will move up a spot.

What do you think?

 

Nobody wants to look at paid results so I can't imagine you could get high traffic and without high traffic who would want to submit their sites?

 

let people rate websites, the higher the rating the better position

 

I agree with livecms- who uis going to search for something on a search engine that returns paid results? Might as well be a paid directory.

 

I didn't ask if I should do paid results. Just how I should show them.

True, my apologies! In that case, your system seems the fairest, would also encourage long term payment plans which is always good for business!

create something new to people, lots of PPC sites gone running some days because of no profit.

 

Well the site is not going to just be a search engine. The web results are going to be just a small portion of the site.

The traffic will be there for other reasons, I just am hoping they use the search feature.
