first thing is "my english is not nice" therefore askuse me for that.. so here i am going to explain , how google work , in starting , google looked at meta tags only and this thing started killing google and other search engines reputation , because people started spamming there meta tags heavily by multiposting many keywords , someone searched for video and he got music , porn and many things and people started disliking google.. Then google chnaged its way , google said that , if a website is having your link on it , then it mean you are nice and thus google started working but again this idea of google got failed because people started spamming there links on various blogs then google made the final rule , which is still in progress , google made a PR system , the better and proper a website is , a better PR provided to it by google... means if a website is very nice then it mean google has given it a very nice PR... if a website is having PR 10 then it mean its the best for backlinking .. your can understand it from below given example 1000 back links of you at PR 0 sites = 20 back links on PR1 site = 1 back link on PR 7 it works very similar to the above equation and that is the reason , now a days people die for making there back links on various HI PR site..
I am sorry but you are not correct about the importance of PR. PR is a very, very small factor in ranking these days. At one time it was a major factor, but no longer. In fact, most SEO professionals believe that G is in the process of dropping PR completely.
may be google is in the process of dropping PR importaince completely but google has not done this till now , google is still following my thread
SEOguy you`re 90% wrong. When you want to obtain a backlink to your website, there are lots of other factors involved that can tell you the real worth of it. For example : *Alexa Rank ( if it`s low and its not from ppc this means that its an authority among its niche ) *Niche Targeted or Not ( if you`re anchor text is placed on the same niche, your backlinks get authority because gets higher CTR then a backlink on a general niche ) *Link Position ( closer to top, the better ) *Do-follow/No-follow Etc etc ... You can figure out more... Just think a little bit more where you place your links.
Is this your own assumption instead of fact? Where did you get or learn this information? - Meta tags, both description and keywords, are not that important as it used to be anymore. However, you said one fact correct that if you spam meta keywords then you are sending your website to hell. - PR is not important as it used to be either. Are you a man from the past went back to the future? The PR and its important is going back to 2004 and not now - The PR calculation is not that exact as you described. No one outside Google could give a good explanation about PR since Google made a lot of changes on them.
Everything you say is infact your own thinking and assumption, its not so simple to tell how google works. As pointed out by someone, there are various other factors involved that results in high PR or increasing PR on google methodology. May be the things have changed nowadays but still you cannot surely say about everything.
I'm sorry, where's a problem in this post? Or to get your post count. And yeh, as others said, useless and wrong. I know you wanted to help others but it's the 1000th post about this and teaches us nothing that's right.
all search engine have one common criteria if a site have many one way links, it is given more popularity.
I think Google is putting far more weight on *where* those one-way links come from than it used to. I'd say links from within the post of a more 'reputable' blog would have more weight than links in the comments of just any old blog. I'm betting on PR being calculated on far more than just backlinks, like site age and I'd also bet Google is now giving weight to how long people spend on a website after they find it in a search. I know if I find a crap site (usually a made for adsense one) I just close it immediately and keep looking, and Google would have ways and means to find this out.
You are right. If people spend more time on your website, it will be ranked highly. That is the "stickyness" of a website. Another factor I like to comment is the "real-time". If your web page is referenced in Twitter, or news websites, you will experience some burst of traffic.. then after a while, it will drop off.. Search engines care timely information as much as "trust worthy" information. Too many factors... Why bother?.. why not focus on building quality content? same advice Google gave out from the day one.. it is still true..
no dought you are right. definetaly many things apart of PR matters .. *like how much time a person spend on a site and *what is the anchor text , you are using while making a back link *meta tag importaince and many more things are considered .... i agry with all of you but here i was trying to say that Hi PR websites are always having importaince to build back link on them instead of having your back link on a pR0 website.. that's it..
Page rank does not matter much. You can do well as long as your website is indexed and getting targeted traffic. What we should focus on is choosing the right keywords and excelling in the competition.
