Can you be as productive at home (working from home) as you are in office? To me its official way of taking free time off (with consent from boss)
Not me. When I am at home I just want to hang out in the god for saken general talk area. When I am at work a lot more gets done.
It depends on what you do. For some of us, working at home can be just as fun as vacation, and still be productive. For example, I make and update my own web pages full time (retired in January.) I can do some work, visit DP, do some work, visit DP... and still be productive!!! Something that you spend a month making can continue to make money years down the road.
I work at home. Being in an office might be more productive, but I have too much fun with the kids underfoot. I like being able to take a break whenever. Of course, I don't have a boss anyhow, so going to an office would be an unnecessary added expense.
It took me a while to be really productive at home. The main thing I do every day is set 1 major goal and finish it. If it takes 8 hours or 2 minutes. I just always get something acomplished every day.
I got the same prob. So I send her to a kindergarten and only pick her up at 6 pm. I work like I am having an 8 - 5 job. Only that I am working for myself
It depends a lot on self-discipline -and - ... not hanging out to much at DP...for example For me, I'm more productive at home then outside. I have a lot more energy. Years ago, traffic jams drove me crazy and I'm glad now that I have better health, income, freedom and more convenience.
I must say I will be more productive at the office than at home. There are a lot of things in the house that desrupts my work unlike in the office where I could work seriously and spontaneously.
I have found that having a specific portion of the house that is devoted solely to work has created a better atmosphere when working at home...
so far my experience of working from has been extremely poor. Can never reach the same level of productivity from home. The working on laptop + vpn/vnc is extremely sluggish (aka frustating)
I recently have become much more productive working from home. I found that just hiring someone to run some misc chores and stuff around the house keeps me focused better for some odd reason
