I've tried working from but find it hard to stay motivated, I work for myself but have a separate office I work from, I like separating the two.

I believe that everyone on here is on because they believe working at home is great. We are all after those promises set out in virtually EVERY single sales letter ever. We want to set our own hours, be our own boss, create a personal ATM machine from the comfort of our house. We want nice things, more time with our family, and more fun things to do.

The benefits that can come from working online far outweigh those of a run of the mill 9-5 job...plus no traffic!

All good points. I worked from home for 9 years -- didnt make 6 figures but always had enough to pay the bills.
It's great to be able to work the hours you want as long as the work gets done. One thing that is very hard at times though is dealing with family and friends.
Everyone seems to think you have all the time in the world to help them since you are not tied to a schedule. Need a baby sitter? need a ride? need help moving? painting? etc etc --
Call so and so --they dont have set hours, they can help. What some people dont understand is that working form home is still working!
Projects still need to be done, no work done no money for bills! Just my 2 cents.

I like doing work at home, but I put in a lot more effort and receive little money in return. The only money I've ever made so far was by doing coding work for a few people. I'm always creating projects, but never have the funds to get them to their full potential.

based on what I said (as of right now), it is not worth it unless you actually make good money.

I am a self starter and do a lot from home. I do have a full time job that I enjoy. I like the structure the full time employment has, and the people interaction. It seems that most of my friends in life have been co-workers.

If I could stay home all the time, I would feel isolated and out of touch.

It doesn't matter working from home or from office. The key point is to work for yourself.

keep in mind working from home also means that the work is always there - it's quite difficult to just leave it. an extra room/office is nice, but your also relying on your own income to power the office, etc. I'd say a kitchen w/ food is a bonus - you get to fix a sandwich or something simple for lunch.

Yes work at home is ideal but the real question is how to find work at home that will earn you close to what you will earn working at the office.

don't over estimate working from home. YOu need to be extremely cautious with the time organization and separate the hours you work from the hours you don't. If not...it is hell...

I also think working at home is great, especially for those with "flexible" jobs, such as coders, designers etc

Well working at home is the easiest way to earn money with flexible schedule.) You may get up early and do all things which you could do in the office during your 8 business hours.) and the rest of the day you may be free.)
