I am coming up to my final consultation for my damaged eye. It was damaged in the workplace and the opthalmologist has told me I have received permanent damage to the optic nerve and will only get worse as time goes by.

Currently, I have to wear prescription sunglasses out in the sun and even when indoors when it is too glary. If I see bright lights without them I get a stabbing pain behind my eye.

Now, my former employer has authorised compensation and accepted liabilty for all my medical bills so far but usually in this situation a payout will come forth as I doubt they will want to continue paying for the rest of my life.

Questions I have been asking is these:

Should I get a lawyer to handle it?
What figure should I aim for?
What arguments can I express for compensation?

Probably many more questions will come forth but really, I don;t have a clue what to expect.

    Col :)
