You can try Odesk.com. I think some of the buyers there are legit.

 

It will take some [amount of] time (and dedication) before you can even begin to contemplating working from home, with regards to online businesses anyway.

Otherwise, you need to come up with a business you can run from home, potentially one day getting an office or warehouse.

Most are a scam, there are a few legit ones, however, you can not make much money on those.

There are some ways, but as others have said above, it takes time. You will need a bit of experience and knowledge to really start earning good sums of money online. Freelancing is a good way, but for that you ought to know something like programming, graphics, or something. You can start earning by applying for assistant of some web earner, he might give you some small works and pay you some amounts... =/
