Wordtracker vs Overture

    Hello

I've found this 3 words keyword that seems pretty popular according to Wordtracker (845 searches/day) but not that popular according to Overture (30 searches/day).
There are currently 550.000 results on Google for that keyword.

My question is: should I trust Wordtracker or Overture?

Most webpages that show up on the first page of results are PR5.

Is building a website around this keyword going top be successful or not?

    Please advice !

Trust WordTracker: their results are not skewed by automatic requests (ranking check tools and etc) and other similar stuff (like in case with Overture).

The funny thing is of it all is that WordTracker's Keyword Search Results are based upon MetaCrawler.Com and supposedly DogPile.Com. We called DogPile.Com and were told that there is no possible way that WordTracker could be using their results because they do not provide an API or access to their database to find the daily search results that WordTracker has. I work for an SEM/SEO company and we are in search of a database that actually has real results, not some made up results like WordTracker. Overture on the other hand is based upon Yahoo!'s Pay-Per-Click clicks. Every time someone clicks a link within Yahoo!'s Pay-Per-Click system the keyword or phrase that was used to get there is incremented by one. Thus, Overture wouldn't be accurate either. Anyone know of any others?

    Hello there

I read this thread with interest but I am afraid I have to dispute the substance of it. As Customer Support Manager for Wordtracker I can categorically confirm that we DO get our data from Metacrawler.com and dogpile.com via our partners Infospace. These have been our data sources for 5 years. I do have articles to substantiate this but can't currently post the links! If you would like them please drop me a mail and I will send them to you.

If you have any questions regarding this or would like further information please feel free to contact me via

    Merry Christmas

Out of those 2 I would go with wordtracker.

But if I can add a 3rd I would go with Keyword Discovery!(since I use that one) :)
