Hi. I've been searching for keywords using wordtracker, ovature and keyword discovery and it's driving me up the wall a bit. For instance, if I search for "sex ads" I get the following: Keyword Discovery: ~13 Million per year Word Tracker: 116 per day Ovature: 162 per day Any thoughts as to the enormous difference? I mean, I can understand some differences, but not on the order of 2.5 magnitudes of difference. Thanks for any help
I guarantee that there isn't anywhere remotely close to 13M people per day searching for "sex ads". I would guess the WordTracker and Overture numbers are more accurate.
That was my thought as well... But, can anyone tell me why Keyword Discovery returns so many hits for that phrase? Or, which tool is generally regarded to be the most accurate representation of major search engine searches? Thanks
13 Million per year not per day... Keyword Discovery: 35616 per day Word Tracker: 116 per day Overture: 162 per day In KD the top 3 results are (Yearly): sex ads 13,072,577 sex personal ads 56,674 ads free sex swinger 3,883 there is a substantial jump from 1 to 2 and then again to 3. based on this I would say that is unlikely that this term has 35k searches per day and that one of our keyword sourced would have rank checkers inflating search counts for this particular term. It is always good practice to cross check against the different database, we have the Overture database built in KD for that particular reason and are also planning to add the WT database in as well. Cheers David
Keyword Discovery data And multiply 4.25 with overture search count. And then you can have some good idea about the search count.
In my experience, Wordtracker provides the most accurate (and timely) data with regard to SE searches. Sam
