I'm trying to do some keyword research, but recently have noticed that these two tools yield VERY different results. Here are the links: http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/gtrends/ https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal For example, "play driving games" yields 112,000 searches a day, but the Adwords tool shows only 12,000 searches per month. I'm sure this keyphrase doesn't get anywhere near 112,000 searches a day, and this makes me distrust WordTracker. There are a LOT of differences such as these. When doing keyword research, should I only use Google adwords to check monthly search volumes? I can then divide those numbers by 30 to check daily search amounts.
The number of searches per day, month, year is BS. We use it to set the order of priority of importance only. To get accurate numbers, you must do a short term Adwords campaign on the term. Also, on the term Security Cameras, you will get search count for the term Security and the long tails. You will get search count for the term Cameras and the long tails. And then you will get the search count for the term Security Cameras. This will be very high. But if you look for the term "Security Cameras" (i.e. exact match), it will be 5% of the other value.
