Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows for sure how google does thist because I couldn't find definite information. Lets say i own the domain name "yourehere.com", and there is a lot of searches for "you're here", and a much less for "youre here" I'm assuming (i'm kinda new at this) that the domain name plays a part in your ranking for that specific string of words. If so, will I be losing the "advantage" of having the domain name matching the keyword, for the people who search "you're here", with the apostrophe? I hope I was clear enough and thank you in advance.
The domain name is not critically important got Google. One or more keywords in the name helps, but only slightly IMO. For G your content and links from other sites are more important factors. Other search engines may put a bit more importance on the domain name, but they seem to be lessening it as well.
You should be asking the question in Yahoo or Bing forums .. Because Google don't really care about the domain matching the keyword or not .. only in very low competition niches , it may help .. otherwise off page seo is the king
Hi, shpatar I think "yourehere.com" would work OK for targeting all those 3 keywords. You could find keywords in your url would be both BOLD on Google SERP when you search for keywords with or without apostrophes. all the best,
