Can anyone tell me why they like wordpress 2.5 better than 2.3? I have only been using WP for a couple months but so far I like 2.3.x better. Maybe it is just that I learned on it?

    Thanks for any comments.

    Wrong section, but ...

I liked the old style as well. Taking me a little time to get used to the new way.

I think it is mainly because we are used to it but wp2.5 has the automatic plugin upgrade with is a blessing :)

It's an advancement, Wordpress 2.5 does everythings Wordpress 2.3 and more so there should be no reason you should dislike WP 2.5 apart from a GUI standpoint maybe but that's no real reason.

    Hi

WP 2.5 is an advance version of WP2.3. WP 2.5 does every thing and has auto plugin so there is nothing to dislike WP 2.5 .

    Thanks

I have not used wp (tried it though). For wp style software, i.e. community developed, and developed constantly, I would recommend upgrading as a general principle. With each release, some bugs are corrected, new functionality added, etc. If you do not have styling problems, go and upgrade. Sooner or later 2.3 will be dated and you will look for a new functionö or similar.

Given that Wordpress 2.5 was a milestone release and not an incremental one, that doesn't surprise me. Plugin authors also had a lot of time to update their Plugins, and even had access to the development branch of 2.5 for a week or so before the new version was released.

Give it time though - if there's enough demand, either they'll update their plugins or someone will do it for them.

    2.5 > 2.3
    Security over Complacency.
Although it did break some plugins I've been using, it's good to know that the upgrade is a much more secure version than the earlier one.
