    Hey guys,

Ever since the wordpress update to 3.0, I have lost the WYSIWYG editor on some of my blogs.

Any one any idea how to get it back?

I don't know where its gone - however perhaps if you install http://word press.org/extend/plugins/tinymce-advanced/ it will 'reinstate' it for you.

You may want to try to disable all the plugins or go back to the default theme and see what happens. Plugins do sometimes cause problems as they might not be compatible to your updated Wordpress version.

How did you update your Wordpress? Automatic or Manual. I will recommend uploading a fresh copy of wp-includes...from your explanation I guess either some files in wp-includes\js\tinymce are corrupt or missing.

Get the DB backup and do a fresh installation!

I also think that you need to make Backup and reinstall everything. I hope you will get the best result. Good luck!

NO don't reinstall everything. There is a setting to turn visual editor on and off per user. To turn on or off go to Users, Your Profile, first box on the page. There is a post in my blog that has screen captures and more detail called How to Turn on Visual Editor in WordPress. If that doesn't do it read the comments for other solutions. Sorry, I can't provide the link because I'm too new here, but you can find it using the search box at the top right on my blog.

They're talking about the WYSIWYG visual editor function in WordPress. There is a check box that hides it. Some people actually prefer to write in html and not use it so they turn it off.

I want the html quick buttons and not the visual editor anyway. But its the bold italic etc... buttons that are missing on both visual and html
