Wordpress WYSIWYG confusion

Hi all I am using WP v2.0.4 and cannot for the life of me figure out how to access the WYSIWYG editor I have visited WP support googled it etc, but am missing the obvious :/ (*yes i have installed/activated the plugin)

You see , I've used Dreamweaver for site creation for years now and am lost in the world of any type of code..n00b alert!

So, can someone please tell me how to access the WYSIWYG editor?

a wysiwyg editor?
its only visible if your profile is set to 'rich editor' and the editor is only used when writing a post/page.

Why is it that soon after I post a Q on any forum THAT is when i figure out the answer, and yes it 'twas dumb ...it turns out that some files weren't in the right dir on the server........ now how to make this post self-destruct?

Uninstall it. Version 2.04 has a built in WYSIWYG editor and the plugin is probably interfering with it.
