Personally I feel that wordpress is your best bet. I havent used joomla in ages but i remember it being very bloated and not optimized to run fast, and with a low server load.

For performance I would have to say Wordpress beats Joomla hands down. Depending on what you're building though, you may find it easier to implement certain functionality aspects in Joomla than in Wordpress. But for performance if I have to choose between the two I'll take wordpress.

Both are equally great. However I personally would go for Joomla for many advantages over wordpress. Small and medium sites can use wordpress... but majority of the bigger ones will certainly go for joomla :D

Shared Hosting Enviroment, I would suggest Wordpress - Joomla is pretty big and make many queries to the database.

Also if you have one of those heavy loading Joomla templates installed, your site will load even slower. Have installed Joomla 1.5 on many hosts and receive many complaints from customers about speed. Joomla 1.0 was a bit faster!

    Hope this help you !
    Cheers ;)

Not too familiar with wordpress but it does seem like my Joomla sites lag a bit. Its a small price to pay for all those features though. I love Joomla

WP's interface is more user-friendly imo, I tried using joomla once, but couldnt get a hang of it. :p
