    Hi All,

I have a vBulletin forum from which the latest posts get displayed on my home page.

Currently I have a simple HTML page as home page where I include the latest 20 posts from my forum using Java Script & RSS feeds.

I like to know if it's better in terms of SEO (to get better indexed by Google) if I use a WordPress home page (I won't be using WordPress blog. I will just put it as home page and display the latest 20 posts from my forum.)

If you have a system set up now, you should leave it as it is. I can't really see any SEO benefits of using Wordpress for just one page, so you should just stick with what you have IMO.

I can by no means prove this at all, but for some reason I have always had better results with Wordpress (a little SEO optimized) than with a blank page. I have no idea if the rss or something plays into it I dont know lol.

If all you intend is to just use the one page then Wordpress would be overkill, and you'd have to deal with the frequent updates... I would suggest you stick with your html page and seo it as best as you can. Later on down the line if you want to do more than the one page and need the functionality of a CMS then you can rethink and plan ahead what CMS is best for you.

It doesn't matter what's powering it, all that matters is what's on the page.

It comes down to how it is setup for seo. If you upload a new page in standard html. You have to wait for the bots to find it. If wordpress is setup properly for seo, one you create a new page, many bots are pinged and can index it in a matter of minutes.

As far as rolling content, a few major SE's have technology that automatically determines how often they should visit the page and re-crawl it for new information.

If you don't need the WordPress functionality, don't use it.

Since WordPress will ultimately generate an HTML page, you will be exactly where you are now, with an HTML page. Don't waste your time...instead find out what is missing from your existing page as far as SEO is concerned and make the necessary adjustments.

    Keep it simple!
