I have a quicktime (mov) video that will be hosted on my Wordpress blog and I was wondering if there was a plugin for wordpress to help show it? It is huge like 70mb...

Should I try to convert it to something else to make it smaller? Just wanting some feedback on the best way to tackle this from a bandwidth standpoint and some ideas on wordpress plugins to show it in?

.mov videos are really big and might be difficult to stream. It would probably be a lot better to convert the video to FLV format, which is going to be a fraction of the size of the .mov.

Then upload the video to your worpdress media library and insert it into your post. In the visual editor there is a button at the top to insert the video into the post.

What do you suggest using to convert it?

You can convert mov to FLV that Adobe Flash Player can handle.
    Check the free Video4Web Converter - http://www.playerdiy.com/downloads/converter/
It can convert all video to FLV.
BTW, it is no need to use any plugin for embedding video to wordpress post.
With the resulting FLV video, you just need a web FLV player.
    You can check playerdiy.com - http://www.playerdiy.com/
It is a quick and effective solution to make custom web FLV player with playlist.
here is the tutorial - http://www.playerdiy.com/blog/upload-flash-videos-to-wordpress-blog/

I'd go with the FLV player as it has the best results.

I use a commercial solution called AVS4you. It cost about $30 - $60 US dollars.

Because I do a lot of video blogging, and film with 3 different cameras, I decided to buy something that can handle multiple formats. You might be able to go with a free solution if your just converting from one format to another. I do not know of of the free solutions off the top of my head.

I bought the software because I convert .MOV, .MOD, .FLV, .AVI,,, and several others. The free solutions did the job, but where very limited. Most of them could only convert one or two formats, so I was having to run 3 or 4 different free programs. And I wanted something I could change the bitrate on,,, change the video size,,, just different options.

Okay the company said I can't alter the video in anyway or they will ask me to take it off the site. It is a 70mb .mov video.

Is there a player in WordPress (plugin) I can use that will show this and maybe crunch the video so it doesn't take as much bandwidth?

Thanks, I will give it a try!

What about bandwidth issues? I am on a shared server, probably lots of sites on my server. What are the bandwidth issues, that I will face with a 70mb video?
