I know that a lot of people prefer wordpress to blogger and I can understand why but what if the only way I plan to monetize it is with adsense then would just sticking with blogger make more sense? I have a site that does get some traffic but I have no time for so I figured it would be easier to maintain if I turned it into a blog. Opinions??
Well technically with a blogger blog, you don't own the traffic unless the domain is yours. Another point is that you can't legally sell a blogger blog. You may also find that are many more adsense optimized themes for wordpress and themes that include advertising spots built in as I've heard Blogger doesn't have great themes available.
I will use the domain name that I have registered (either forward or mask) will that make a difference?
On using Blogger: I've heard that Google will lock your account if they think there's even a chance you're using it to run a business. Sure...they allow you to post Adsense on your Blogger blogs, but they only want you to make nickels and dimes. The minute you start to make some serious dough -- your account is gone. They accuse you of spamming and that's that. Better off with Wordpress and your own platform.
Blogger is great only for 1 reason (in my opinion): easier to post via email. Other than that, you're better off with WordPress
Thanks for the advice everyone. It looks like it is worth it for me to step outside my comfort zone and go with Wordpress .
i started with blogger first . then i went off to wordpress and have been using it. u get lots of options with wordpress like themes (thousands of them) , customization and lots of plugin from the wp community. And the most important thing u can host it in ur own webhosting.
WordPress owns blogger! Not only does it give you more options with plugins, etc, but its better to monetize with adsense. I used to use blogger and got like 1 click before I just deleted the whole blog. Been using wordpress for about a week or so now, and I am already at $1 a day. Huge difference!
Wordpress has more advantages and it has more features to design your site than blogger and for me a wordpress blog looks more professional
It's simple WordPress - More advanced, allows more customization, but you need money to host it unless you use Trap17. Blogger - Not that advanced, allows minimal customization, free hosting by google. That's pretty much it.
