I have been pondering upgrading my Wordpress to the latest and greatest, but I am afraid of screwing everything up. Does anyone know how it affects things like sidebar links, plug-ins, etc? I don't want to install the new version then have to completely rebuild my blog.

I did that upgrade ages ago and redid my template at the time, but the old template would have worked too, from memory.

I'm a fan of the RC1 release for 2.0, personally. I highly recommend it to all for those that want the latest and the greatest. It's pretty stable as it, but not final quite yet.

Well there is a beta test going on right now of Wordpress 2.0, and quite a few plugins have already been written for it... So maybe that's the problem. I'm personally not switching to 2.0 until it's stable... I'm just not savvy enough in fixing bugs.

bschneider5's, I have also run into the plugins being not incompatible with the latest versions. some plugin authors are quick to update their plugins with the latest version while some don't
