Ok I almost have my new theme finished on my test site and I am getting ready to transfer over my 10,000 some posts over to the test site. I realize that I need to use the Export tool to do so. My question is, because I am making my "new" site simpler with more general category names, what is the best way to recategorize my posts? And what is recommended as far as a backup so that I do not ruin my posts' placement in the search engines? Are there certain steps that I should take before I export the posts...for instance, should I just move all my fashion related posts and import them into the new site theme first and then proceed with all the music related posts...then so on and so forth? I just want to make sure I do this right without ruining my ranking.
