What WordPress themes do people use - especially interested in ones with built in adsense styling/placing.

    Thanks.

    Josh

EDIT: Just seen there was a post earlier today with a similar request but I'm more interested in built in adsense styling - i don't mind paying for templates but obviously free ones are better!

I would suggest looking at Small Potato's wp themes. None of them have built-in slots specifically for Adsense, but of course it's easy to add them to the sidebar (you can simply copy and paste the code, or put the code in a "text" widget under the widget section).

Many theme makers (and users) have switched to other forms of ad revenue, because adsense just doesn't convert well for most topics. Adsense has gone way down hill (in my opinion) because many people are making less than a penny per click while people are paying $1-4 for the same clicks. The revenue split for adsense has went from about 60/30 (google to publisher) to at least 95/5 over the past couple of years.

You can do a search on themes.wordpress.org for adsense enabled.

Yikes! I didn't know that. I'll have to look at other options. Maybe try a couple different ones (being that I'm just beginning).

I would suggest that everyone try out different ad networks and see what works best for them. I once had adsense, but after having thousands of unique visitors (at 76cent cpm) and more than a dozen clicks I made about 3 cents. At this point I've made 51 cents, and I only use it on this forum LOL.

Don't get me wrong, some people do make a lot of money using adsense, but many find that other ad networks (and even other monetization methods) work better.
