    Hey!
I am new to using wordpress and have been coming across a problem.
I recently download a few themes and I also FTP a theme into the folder. I am trying to uninstall a theme and all its settings that I've done. So I went to appearance, themes, uninstall, done! Now I wanted to re-install that theme again (Because of lost/deleted information from experimenting) but when I FTP the theme back into the proper folder, went to wordpress and activated. For some reason is kept all my information from last time. I didn't want that! I wanted to start from scratch again
    How to fix it ?

    Hey Zohaib,

as my understanding you newly install wordpress and upload / install a theme for that website but after some reasons you delete or uninstall your theme from wordpress admin panel, if yes.... than you did wrong prectice because you saying there was some information as well, so you should go to FTP or your hosting cpanel where an option "File Manager" for upload or remove any file, first you should remove your all files if you need from scratch also remove your wordpress files except "wp_config.php" or download this file because in this file your all information are stored such as database (mySQL).

wp-config.php file to define the WordPress configuration settings required to access your MySQL database. if you still have any question can ask, i'm here for help you.

Are you referring to your posts and the like...? Those are saved in your database and not in your themes folder. You'll have to clear the content on your database or set up a new one. I'm not very familiar with that end of things in terms of offering specific advice, but it's likely what you need to start anew. All care.

Several of your theme settings are actually stored in the database, header image, background and site title. Deleting your theme will not change these settings.
You'll have to go to Appearance > Themes and click on "Customize" to upload a new background or header image.
Click on Settings > General to change your site title, tagline, URL, etc.

I was experimenting with my theme and after that the theme was not working properly. I deleted the theme from admin panel, It didn't work then i deleted my theme from cpanel and through ftp. After that i uploaded that theme again with original code but the theme is showing the same error. The theme was working fine before when i was changing code

If you were making changes in Appearance > Editor, you may not have been altering your theme files but the actual WordPress files.

WordPress loads its core files, then the theme files. So, the theme files overwrite the core files but only the ones they modify. You may have to re-install WordPress or, at least, upload a fresh copy of the files you modified that are now producing the error.

Simple solution would be, just install "clean-options" plugin from wordpress. Than go to Tools>> clean options. On that dashboard, click on "find orphaned options". Then from the list of orphaned options, select "theme_mods_theme-name", and click "View selected options Info". On next page, check "Yes, Remove ALL of these options from the wp_options table." and click submit. It will remove all theme mods and settings saved in database table.
