I am selling an established wordpress theme shop website, http://hotclonethemes.com.

HoCloneThemes.com is a directory of the best premium WordPress clone themes of the most popular websites including 9gag, damnlol, imgur, etc.

I came up with this niche idea back in Jul and registered this domain in Aug. Since then I hired two guys to code the themes for me.

Since the humor oriented websites are popular these years, most of the themes are for funny pictures/videos. But we also include some magazine/portfolio/blog themes.

Traffic

I use wordpress Jetpack stats instead of Google Analytics to track the traffic of my website. I promise all are organic traffic because I never did a promotion since the beginning.

Traffic breakdown according to Jetpack (only pageviews, UV is not available and claimed 800 UV/mo is just my estimation):

• Aug: 237
• Sep: 691
• Oct: 5026
• Nov: 1937 (by when I am writing this, Nov 21)

Revenue:

Our first 2 themes ultrahumor/ultrafunny were released in late Aug and got 1 sale in that month. We had a quiet month in Sep as the website was down for quite few days and we've been tried to recover the data and also transferred to a new host. Oct and Nov goes smoothly though we didn't do any marketing promotions.

Why I am selling:

I've devoted myself all 4 months on this website, I would not sell it but:

• I'm collecting money for decorating my new house. This is for my coming baby.
• I had a fight with my wife because she's mad at me spending so many hours on it and we are in bad finance situation currently.
• I am not qualified for an entrepreneur and really bad at it! I don't have any common sense in relation to internet marketing, I cannot write compelling sales letters, I cannot design converting websites.
• yep! I'm collecting money for my new house decoration!! This is the main reason!

May I know how much time and money involved in promoting the site to generate sales? I know that it varies from person to person but can you give a general idea?

I didn't pay a penny to promote the site since the very beginning. All my costs are for the theme development and hosting and also most of my free time (~3 hours/day to maintain the themes and answer customers inquiries).
As the site is already filled with 10 themes, I think it's enough for the new buyer to focus on the promotion like guest post, write theme review, blog comments, etc.

Agree.
While the theme is not for image hosting but image sharing. They are a bit different.
And actually the best part is that wordpress is easy to maintain and there are lots of plugins our there. Even you cannot read a line of codes, you are good to run a website with a small expense(hosting, domain).

 

That's a really good website with great earnings, but I suggest you to sell it on Flippa.com. There are more number of bidders than here unfortunately. Good Luck!

If you just borrow money from relatives/friends, or build your kids' room step by step and keep the site, you will be making your BIN in just 9 months.

It doesnt sound so logical to sell a site which is making such reliable and stable money like this.
