Anyone knows of any Wordpress template for non-blog pages? I mean I want to do static pages (of travel reviews) and just need the header/sidebar/footer to be uniform in EVERY page. I think Wordpress can do that right? Been looking for templates but seems like all of them are for blogs (unless I'm wrong).
One way is to use the static front page plug-in from Semiologic. He also has a package of plug-ins and themes bundled together in a zip download that makes a pretty nice CMS. All free - er- Open Source - of course. Other than that, you can use almost any Wordpress template and hack it up by disabling all the blog-like features such as comments, trackbacks, blogrolls and such in your admin panel.
Good find Donna My related posts aren't quite right and couldn't get the search to work but I'll persist...
I have tried Wordpress CMS but I wasn't happy with it. I expected more. Maybe I am at low level of knowladge but too complicated for me.
See my profile for a link to a "sandboxed" site i am working on. (i can't post links yet) It's using WordPress and the static page plugin.
It wouldn't be that hard to create your own off an already-made theme. I'm currently developing a magazine site using Wordpress. It's a very robust system, you can use Wordpress for almost anything. Plugins are being created left and right, so soon enough there will be a plugin for everything and you just make it do whatever you want. 1.6 is coming out soon, hopefully =)
