Wordpress tags, upgrade & SERPS question

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone is having the same results as I am (and hopefully I can explain it understandably)...

On one of my wordpress 2.3 blogs, I'm getting keyword rankings in Google SERPS terms in my tags and what's on the front page of my site, but not for the actual page url that the keywords are coming from.

This has only been happening after I upgraded to 2.3, but perhaps may be a Google problem. Would anyone know (and care to tell me) why this is happening?

    Thanks in advance.

Tags get high page rank because they link out to relevant content only (if you look at a tag page like mysite.com/tags/cars, that page only links to car pages, making it trustworthy). They also have lots of internal links. So, that "cars" tag might have 750 internal inbound links, while the individual pages using that tag might have only a handful, depending on how many times you've linked to those pages yourself.

This is a good tip for getting high PR in social bookmarking..just look for the tag pages that are PR6+ and use those tags :)

Thanks for the reply markn26, but what I'm asking is why are only my tags ranking for specific keywords now when the actual post urls were ranking previously also.

I would think that with the addition of tags, both the tag and page url would be ranking.
