    Hi,

My site has become overwhelmed with spam. Is there any way I can just delete every comment? and every comment in "awaiting moderation" ?

    thanks.

Definitely use Akismet. It works wonders for me, although the occasional spam message still comes through, it's blocked about 10,000 spam comments since installation.

@flashculture: I have had the same problem, and Askimet is really usefull and a must ot install.
But I got a lot of stuff into Askimet and was constantly checking if there where possible good comments in there... and then empty the stuff ( I know it does automaticly clean after a month)

That was until I installed this Match Comment spam plugin from:
    http://sw-guide.de/wordpress/plugins/math-comment-spam-protection/

All I have now are real comments, and a very occasional spam backlink in Askimet, this combination has brought me a lot of peace of mind!

Yes, go into phpmyadmin and then go to your blog's database (from the list on the left.) Next, click the browse icon in the wp_comments row (the button is the first one and when you scroll over it will say browse.) After clicking that scroll down and click check all (or pick the ones you want to delete.) Once you have the ones you want to delete checked, hit the delete button (the red "X".)
