Wordpress Shopping Cart

I started a web design business early this year, and my first client asked for a shopping cart.Since I only use Wordpress (WP pages for content is king) I wanted to find a solution for WP,so I came across WP-ecommerce,had a rating of 3 stars only and I thought ,why not give it a try,one click install, and there was my shop.I loved it,easy, looked good, happy days.Added the clients products, did a few test purchases, and delivered the finished project to the client. He was very happy.

Got a call 2 weeks later,a visitor was trying to purchase a product from his shop and was getting all kinds of error messages-could i fix it.I lost 3 working days fixing it.

So I wanted to find an alternative

Came across Shopperpress, its a complete theme, not just a plugin.Bought it and am testing it.I like how it utilizes the functionality of Wordpress-products are added as posts, product categories are post categories-its very sensible.

I didnt like any of the default themes, but came across a theme called minx and I am going to modify one of the default Shopperpress themes to look like that.I get Realex Payments already integrated, which for me is perfect,I would have had to pay to get Realex integrated for Wordpress. That is my solution to a Wordpress shopping cart.

Why not go with a free shopping cart package like Opencart or Magento?

Good stuff. From one you found another and from there I promise you'd begin to look into further OpenSource stand-alone eCommerce solutions as stated above the more you get into eCommerce design.

WordPress eCommerce was my first solution for clients looking for basic eCommerce addons, then came the full eCommerce WordPress development for those wanting a basic shopping site. Clients looking for a more robust eCommerce site would prefer the standalone solution as there's a lot more you can do so if your interested start with OpenCart and you can then progress to Magento and the works.

muvouchers is right, i use opencart and it's so easy to use anyone could use it, it's easy to setup and is easy for the customers to quickly buy products without any hassle. they also release new versions nearly every month or so, so try using opencart, one of the best e-commerce out there today

I've used a wordpress plugin called eshop and it's easier to configure and use. It might be useful to you!
