Hey guys.. I recently started a blog for demotivational posters (icanhascheezburger style) just to learn wordpress and such.. I've been doing small mods to it so far and am going to do reading on SEO and try things on it and learn from it. Doing mod rewrite next, then gonna make a "builder" for the posters so users can submit them.. But before I do all that I'm just posting here for a somewhat "urgent" question. Some of the visitors who come to the site come from searching for specific posters.. For example, today, a few visitors come from the term "envy it wears a coat and hangs out in hallways". Google link: http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=envy+it+wears+a+coat+and+hangs+out+in+hallways&btnG=Google+Search&meta= As you can see, I'm 4th. The problem here is that that poster was posted last week, so if you were to click my site, you would just get the main page. The user may then be upset and leave. What can I do to make it so that it takes you to the actual poster page, when one searches for it?? ie, http://www.unmotivate.com/?p=15 Thanks for any help
you must change your permalink.. it must be seo friendly.. just like what i have.. http://www.niessuh.com/pinoy-money-talk-anniversary-contest/)... the permalink you currently have is not good.. try to change it... if you don't know how just visit the codex.wordpress.org for help.
I was under the impression that changing the URL just improves my ranking in the SERPs, but doesn't do anything in terms of redirecting the user.
