Wordpress running slow with large DB

    i have just set up a Recipes blog and it has just over 54,000 posts, each post being a recipe.

    My question is: is there any way to speed up the loading of the site?

    I presume the size of the database is slowing down the loading of the site, i have the latest version of wordpress installed 2.3.1

    Does the site seem slow to you? Any ideas what can be done?

    Get a better server hosting package :) really, that is the only way...or get more RAM, although that's going to hurt your monthly bill.
