I've been trying to install the related posts plugin, used by many bloggers, but haven't succeeded so far. The plugin I am talking about is this here, provided by wasabi.

Though I can activate the plugin, this is only the first step.
According to the creators of this plugin, you need to do 2 modifications, one to the SQL database, and the other one to one of the theme php files. As the readme file seems to be directed to techies, the words on how to do these 2 modifications are quite poor.

I need your help !. Please tell me how to do the last step, I would much appreciate if you can detail all the neccesary steps for people that, like me, are not experts yet in php and mysql. Also, I don't know wich version is the correct one. For the comments I've seen so far in many blogs, I know that many people has the same problem, but no one seems to be willing to explain what to do and where to do it exactly so we can to fix it. Hope you can help me out with this.
Notes: I don't have a single.php file in my theme, the readme file says the following: Put <?php related_posts(); ?> somewhere in your WP loop,
