    Hi, right into it then! Ive just been given advice that in order to get small websites/blogs ranked within google, then it is a good idea to get as many pages indexed as possible (more content makes sense) However I was adivised to make 'posts' with tags, as each 'tag' is recognised as a page by google (?) If so, my question is this, what is the difference between posts and pages within wordpress, in relation to google indexing? Can i simply make pages instead of posts in wordpress to achieve the same results? And what exactly is the difference between a wordpress post, and a wordpress page? why not just have posts or pages? any advantages or reasons?

    Many thanks if anyone can offer their opinion in these questions

    Alan.

    Page ussualy only used to place contact, links, about. Post is the main of your blog content. Post is unlimited. I think you should try install Wordpress first to understand between this two.

    Many thanks for your reply. And i have already made a site using wordpress blog. And I have made so far 9 pages and no posts, using the pages as categories. Think I may have done it the wrong way around so will probably go and change it to 9 posts!!

    Still learning............................lol

    Thanks again, Alan.

    Posts are more 'news' instead of just static content. Something happen? Something to report? Make a post. Pages are special sections of your site dedicated to miscellaneous things - contact info, submission forms, advertising information, etc.

    I agree and was about to write the same... You cannot add more number of pages as it reduces your blog appearance... It's normally posts..Maybe for faster indexing, u should go with social bookmarking sites...

    @2mk_atspace : I like your avatar...LOL
