    Hi all,

I'm having problems with my wordpress editor, when I want to edit a post in code view it wont save it, it reverts back to how it was and the same goes for design view too
On top of this I'm also having problems with it saving my tags in my posts.

and also, it will not save any new catorgories that I make, its says they have been updated but they aren't showing :confused:

    Thanks in advance

A couple of things spring to mind.

During an update a corrupt file has been created. Redo the update but delete the WP files from the root area first so you are uploading the new WP files to a 'clean' root area.
Check your database - it may need repaired (do it from cpanel).
    There's a permissions problem somewhere.

Edit - these are just stabs in the dark, btw, not definitive. I'm throwing a few possibilities out for you to think about.

    hi mcfox
    thanks for the post

I had real bad problems with the editor before, anyway one thing led to another and my sister took everything off and did a complete new install yesterday so I really dont know why its doing this.
I'm almost sure that the permissions are ok but I'll double check

Do you mean that the actual post on the blog is the old one? But you see the new one in the back end? Remember that you need to publish your work and not just save it.

You say they are not showing. Not showing where? If you can't see them in the back end, then yes there is a problem. BUT, if you cannot see them on the front end, the actual blog, that is NOT a problem. You only see them on the blog when there is at least one post in the category. But all must be seen in the back end.

Not sure if either of these points will help you, not seeing the problem myself, but I thought I would mention them anyway.

    Thanks roseau

I have worked a way around this now but it's a bit of a pain when I want to just change a typo quickly for instance - what I have to do is go into manage/posts or pages and edit from there as opposed to being able to edit from the main page where you see 'edit this post'.

I figured out the category problem thanks
