WordPress PROBLEM!!!!!

Hello,

please take a look at the picture below:



the category "Main" is my a default category i want to delete it but there is no box beside it i tried to edit it and making it not a default but there is no option i tried making another category a default but again no such an option how can i delete "Main" please help!

 

Did you try changing the default category by going to Options -- > Writing?

I am almost sure that you can't delete Main category because its the default category as set in your options. richrf suggestion is accurate, change your default cat to something else and you can delete it after that.

 

you cannot delete uncategorized/main category

 

You just cant delete the DEFAULT UNCATEGORIZED Category. You can rename it,but you cat delete it.

 

Yep. The Default category is undeletable. I think it's because the WP guys didn't want us to kill our blogs the moment we deleted ALL our categories. It also has some additional functions but you do get the point right?
