Hi guys. I recently started a new blog, and it was the 'Popularity Contest' plugin on it. My problem is that it won't stop! On the sidebar where the plugin is, everytime I make a new post/page it will appear on the list, but I only want 4 or 5 to appear. I've fiddled with all the settings but nothing seems to work! Help!
Uninstall the Plugin. Delete the plugin files out of the /wp-content/plugin directory. I notice some themes have this plugin built in ..If that the case. Then you need to edit it out the theme or just use another theme. Check the functions.php file
That plug in has had some problems not being compatible with a lot of themes, or Word Press upgrades. The best option is for you to visit the support page for the plug in, and make sure you have the most up to date version, and see if anyone else has the same problem. There are just too many variables with that particular plug in, your theme and version of word press, compatibility with other plug ins, and so on. I have it on about 5 blogs, on some it works just fine, on others it doesn't and I had to deactivate it.
I am using Popularity Contest Plugin at my blog and it show me only top 5 posts there in the list. Rightnow i really don't know if any change made by me at the time of installation but it works perfectly. Have you checked readme text for that plugin ? DON.
