    There are a lot of plugins listed on the post that was mentioned. But for the very simpliest solution if you are wanting to just add adsense to your sidebars, just make sure you are using the latest version of WP which has Widgets incorporated.

    Just go into "Presentation", click on "Widgets", activate the number of "text widgets" you want to use.

    Then just drag the text widgets into the sidebar that you want the adsense ads to show up in and paste you adsense code in the text widget.

    Then just click outside of the text box and click "Save Changes".

    If you want adsense in your header or footer you will have to edit the template file(header.php/footer.php) where you want the ads or use some of the plugins.

    If you want the ads to show up in your posts you will have the get one of the plugins that do that.

    For me I just edit the header and footer.tpl normally. Easier that way rather than add any plugins.
