I have some plugins I've UN-installed that still show in the dashboard and some that I installed (that show up fine on the server) that don't show up on the dashboard.

Is there a trick to making the ones I added show in my dashboard list for activation and the ones I've deleted to be removed from the dashboard plugin list?

Not all plugins show up in Dashboard. Check your Options Tab (specifically the menu underneath Options), also check the Manage Tab. If you still don't see it check the creators site, so they can tell you. Sometimes plugins don't even have administration options.

well...I had no problem installing it and finding it on another blog...its just this one!

I thought it didnt show up because I had too many installed so I un-installed some and then re-installed it and although my server showed the changes WP didn't.

What do you mean by uniistalled ? have you manually remove them or just deactivated them ? Anyway if you want to completely remove a plugin including the table of its from the database (clean removal) than you can always use PHPMyAdmin Plugin for Wordpress.
