Hello fellows! Does anyone know of a plugin that can generate an XML sitemap for my wordpress blog and submit that to google? Or even do the first job of sitemap generation only? Cheers.
You can search on wordpress, this plug-in I think is available! But I am not sure it submits to search engines or not!

I have got the plugin people but constantly coming up with this error: There was a problem writing your zipped sitemap file. Make sure the file exists and is writable. Can anyone help with this? I have tried making the file and do everything that it demands.
Why do people not just go to WordPress.org and check first? With WordPress 3 you can search directly for plugins from the Admin Panel.
It is no problem if it can not generate a zipped format of sitemap. But check that is the normal sitemap created succesfully. Check here http://www.Yourwebsite.com/sitemap.xml if it exists go and submit in google, yahoo, bing.
I did fix the CHMOD to 777 even. Googled the term. Checked WordPress and none of them worked for me. It still comes up with the same error.
try this... 1) made two files in root directory.. sitemap.xml.gz and sitemap.xml 2) put chmod to 777 to them and try to rebuilt the sitemaps... hope this work's
Tried this even. But even this does not help. It's just one plugin that does not work on my wp! HELP ME PEOPLE!
yes, most free hosting make prob to php applications... they use maximum protection for their server's so it limit's the php features... go with a good cheap host or any other reliable free host...
