wordpress plugin for auto dealer

I need some help finding a wordpress plugin for auto dealer listings.

I've found one for realty listing but haven't been able to find a auto dealer plugin for Wordpress.

Does anyone know of a plugin I can use?

I'm not sure what you mean, and frankly I don't think you understand what I'm looking for either.

I need to build a website for a car dealership, and would prefer to use Wordpress. I've googled for a wordpress plugin that would allow me to do that, but I couldn't find anything.

I found a few realty plugins for a real estate website, but nothing for a car dealership.

Are you looking for something like PHPBay where you can pull in Auto Listings from Ebay? Or Bans type of plug in? I have not come across one for Autodealers, but I've seen a few for ebay, and you may find a classifieds plug in you could customize.

The problem is these plugins are typically designed for people who are looking to make an affiliate commission so if there is not backend profit model for the masses they don't get created.

The RSS feed suggestion above would work assuming the dealers you want to pull into your pages actually provide an RSS feed.

 

While I am huge fan of wordpress and what you can do with it, if not to it... I would not use it in this scenario.

I think what you are looking for needs to be custom built. I assume since you took on this job you either know how, or know who to go to to build it for you.

I agree with the above. I wouldn't use word press for this either. You need a custom designed site from the ground up. I don't think "prefabbing" a site for a car dealership will come out very professional.

I think it may be something for the original poster to check out as well as others seeking.

We have used WordPress for some time now and love it. We have switched all of our original clients web sites over to WordPress and they are very happy and they have all noticed significant increases in their web site traffic as a result.

The big issues I have found is data. You have to build a method to query a database for specific vehicles. In some case vehicles are exported VIA XML and RSS as listings, however importing them and then providing a search method creates a bit of a task...........

If it is a dealership that sells 20 cars or less per month then http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/car-inventory-page-display-wordpress-plugin/ or something similar that uses custom fields would be ample. If on the other hand it is a large dealership that sells 20 or more cars per month and requires data to be sent to 3rd party providers like Autotrader then www.cardealerpress.com is a better solution.
